East Lake Golf Club

Drenched in history, visitors to East Lake are treated to the splendor of Atlanta reminiscent of the golden age of golf. Established in 1904, East Lake Golf Club is home to the oldest golf course in the city of Atlanta and is the home course of legendary golfers, Bobby Jones, Alexa Stirling, Charlie Yates and others. Designed by famed architect Philip Shutze in 1926, East Lake’s two story Clubhouse stands as a symbol of tradition and elegance.

Please note that East Lake is a private Club. Only members may utilize Club facilities.

Great Hall

This magnificent room was originally designed by famed Atlanta architect Philip Shutze in 1926 and is one of two original rooms in East Lake’s Clubhouse along with the Bobby Jones Room. The Great Hall serves as the entry way into the Club and contains numerous trophies and pieces of memorabilia from East Lake’s storied past.

Ball Room

With magnificent views of the lake and golf course, the Ballroom is the largest room at the Club.

Bobby Jones Room

The Bobby Jones Room is one of the two original rooms in East Lake’s Clubhouse along with the Great Hall. It was designed in 1926 by Philip Schutze and features magnificent wood carvings by Herbert Millard. Today, the room serves to honor Bobby Jones and his contributions to both East Lake, Atlanta, and the game of golf.

The Terrace Room

Overlooking No. 18, the Terrace Room features magnificent views of East Lake’s iconic eighteenth hole.

Veranda

East Lake’s two-tiered back Veranda overlooks the historic lake, golf course, and back putting green.

Grill Room

Added on in 2008, the Grill Room serves as the primary dining room for the Club while overlooking the historic lake and golf course.

Yates Room

The Yates Room is named after former East Lake member Charlie Yates who won the British Amateur Championship in 1938. The room honors he and his family’s storied career and their contribution to the game of golf.

Captain's Room

Redesigned in 2021 with the help of Arnold Palmer’s family, the Captain’s Room is named after Arnold Palmer, who won the Ryder Cup for the United States at East Lake while serving as playing captain in 1963. The room features trophies and memorabilia from his years competing in the Ryder Cup.

Atkinson Room

The Atkinson Room features memorabilia honoring Henry Atkinson, the founder of Georgia Power, and the man who donated the land that the Club is built on today. Atkinson was the one who had the vision to turn East Lake into the “Saint Andrews of America.” The room traces the story of both Atkinson and Southern Company’s 120 year partnership with the Club.
