Ralph Kepple | Golf Course Superintendent / Directory of Agronomy
Ralph Kepple was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, Ohio which is located between Columbus and Akron. He has been working on golf courses since he was 13 years old and has loved it ever since. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from The Ohio State University, majoring in Agronomy with an emphasis on Turfgrass Science. Ralph moved to Atlanta in May, 1990 to become Assistant Superintendent at Settindown Creek Golf Club and he has been the Golf Course Superintendent/Director of Agronomy at East Lake since February 1, 1992.
Ralph has been a Certified Golf Course Superintendent through the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) since 2000, and recently renewed for the third time. He has also been an instructor/speaker for the GCSAA, the Carolina’s CGSA, the Georgia GCSA, for a large symposium called “The Ultradwarf Revolution” and at Osaka, Japan in 2012 for an event held by Inaji Golf for Asian Golf Course Superintendents. He was recipient of the Georgia Turfgrass Association Professional of the Year Award in 2000, the Georgia GCSA’s Superintendent of the Year in 2012, and have sat on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Golf Environmental Foundation since 2011.
Ralph and his wife Lisa have been married for 21 years and have three children – a son and two daughters. His daughters will both attend the University of Georgia this fall, where on will be a Junior and the other a Freshman. In his free time Ralph likes to play golf, watch all sports and read.
